wholistic  ?

Wholistic Medicine, or Integrative Medicine as it is otherwise known, is a system and philosophy of medicine that looks at, and treats the whole person.

In this day and age of increasing scientific knowledge and modern technology, the trend is to Specialization and this concentrates and treats only smaller and smaller parts of the body. The whole body and the overall picture can be missed as a result.

Wholistic medicine continues to focus on the total person, including body, mind and spirit.

As well as the whole person focus, another principle in Wholistic medicine is that it is allowable and often beneficial to combine (integrate) conventional and alternative treatments. Conventional treaments tend to be scientific, up to date treatments, are Western based, and usually doctor driven and doctor prescribed. Complementary treatments on the other hand, are often Eastern world based, are time honoured,

utilise ancient wisdoms and are strongly dependent on patient participation.

Wholistic consultations are usually more thorough, intensive and longer than comparable GP visits.

The partnership between the doctor and patient is paramount. This approach leads to improved patient well being and the aim is for better outcomes.

Standard treatments lead to standard results. We believe that extra care, treatment, individual research, understanding and total person medicine are more likely to lead to extra ordinary outcomes.

Some conditions that are often treated at MWM are cancers, chronic fatigue, depression and anxiety, fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis.

We sincerely wish you well on your healing journey.
